Each New Year folks around the world like to sit back and reflect on the years prior and what they can improve in the year ahead. Here at Marine Surplus, we’re no different. Like your own boats can use an upgrade or new seat now and then, we don’t necessarily need to change everything completely here. We’ve been around for over 40 years because clearly we’re doing something right by you, our customers. But that doesn’t mean we can’t improve, and it doesn’t mean that every change is going to be perfect.
This last year, we’ve implemented new online gift cards, partnered with new communities, and most importantly broadened our ability to be available for our customers. Fonts not dark enough? We got you! Search Bar wasn’t easily located? We agree it was in a dumb spot and now it’s accessible! We’re always trying to come up with new ways to improve the user experience on the customer end. If we’re failing in any way we value your feedback! The only thing that’s not likely to change any time soon is our store hours. I’m so sorry, we all value our Sundays too much at this point.
This new year we’re testing our e-mail waters. Those of you that agreed to receive e-mails seem to mostly enjoy it, but there’s a fine line between keeping you updated and spamming and as someone who hates her own e-mail box I strive to not be the latter. We try to keep it simple and only send out alerts. You’re never gonna get random blog posts like this one, or the random nonsense others like to send, but again, it’s e-mail and this can be tricky. Not exactly a perfect system.
We’re also going to be doing our best to get more items in our store. Pestering Austin to give us more goods to get into your hands. We’re always open to suggestions with what y’all need. Do we not carry enough gauges? Harnesses? Where are we slacking?
All of this to say we’re doing what we can to make some positive changes and growth this year, and we’re glad to have you along for the ride. Stay tuned for other exciting news throughout the year and other surprises like more sales!
